What is Childhood Day?

Taking place every year on the second Friday in June, Childhood Day is our national flagship day of fundraising and action that brings communities together and gives everyone a way to help keep children safe.

Child abuse has no place in childhood. The power to prevent it lies in communities across the UK and Channel Islands.

What is the Childhood day mile?

We're asking people across the UK and Channel Islands to move a mile on Friday 7 June.

Move a mile any way you choose - walk, swim, hike, horse ride, however you like!

When is the Childhood day Mile?
Childhood Day takes place on Friday 7 June, and we're encouraging people to take part and do their mile on this day. However, if this date doesn't work for you then you can take part any time around this date. You are welcome to take part at any time of day.

How much do I need to raise?

We're asking all participants to raise as much as they are comfortable raising. We are grateful for any amount given.

Your fundraising will go towards our vital work, ensuring we can be there for children when they need us most.

£4 could pay for a call to Childline.
£16 could pay for our trained counsellors to answer 4 calls to Childline.
£25 could pay for a trained practitioner for 1 hour, supporting parents, families and their children through our direct children's services.
£150 could pay for practitioner for our Helpline for 1 shift, providing vital help and support to adults concerned about a child's welfare.

£1460 could pay to run Childline for an average of 1 hour.
